Baltimore, MD - Tom DeGeorge scored from 20 yards out on a direct kick in the 66th minute to break a 2-2 tie and give the Arcadia University men's soccer team a 3-2 win over Johns Hopkins University Thursday night at Homewood Field.

DeGeorge's goal came just six minutes after Ryan Kitzen (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) had tied the game for Hopkins with a shot from 25 yards out. Arcadia's Gary Beaver scored an unassisted goal in the 56th minute to break a 1-1 halftime tie.

Chad Tarabolous (Tulsa, OK/Cascia Hall) gave the Blue Jays the lead in the 16th minute when he headed home a corner kick from Aerik Williams (Columbus, OH/Columbus Academy). The assist was the 28th of Williams' career, which ties him for the school record with Eric West.

Rob White scored off a feed from DeGeorge five minutes later to tie the match.

Blue Jays goalkeeper Gary Kane, Jr. (Lansdale, PA/Lansdale College) made three saves in defeat, while John Conley made four saves for the Scarlet Knights.

Hopkins, which went a perfect 9-0-0 in the Centennial Conference last season, opens league play on Saturday, when the Blue Jays travel to Swarthmore for a 2 p.m. start.
