The Basics
• Score: Johns Hopkins-1, Bethany-1 (2OT)
• Records: JHU (0-0-2), BC (0-0-1)
• Location: Baltimore, MD • Homewood Field
• The Short Story: In a rematch of the 1994 NCAA Championship game, this one also went to overtime, but neither team came out on the winning side as Johns Hopkins tied visiting Bethany, 1-1. In the first game of the 2016 Blue Jay Invitational, it was junior defender Jonah Muniz who scored for the Blue Jays.

How it Happened
• The visiting Bison struck first in the 19th minute, cashing in on corner kick. Jack Waters sent the corner into the Blue Box, where it hit off a defender and went in the far side of the goal.
• Hopkins had great chances in the 49th and 61st minutes but just missed. Freshman Connor Jacobs headed a cross from junior Jonah Muniz that just missed at the far post in the 49th. Fourteen minutes later, sophomore Max Song struck a free kick from 32 yards out, that Bethany goalie Callum Appleby was able to just knock aside.
• The Blue Jays pulled even in the 82nd minute off a set piece. Senior Samy Ramadane took the free kick, which was just outside the right side of the box, sending the ball into sophomore Cole Rosenberger. He touched the ball forward and then played it across the mouth of the goal, where Muniz touched it the open goal.
• Hopkins had two great chances from senior co-captain Victor Osio and freshman Liam Moylan in the 88th minute to get the go-ahead goal but a pair of saves by Appleby kept the score level. The teams battled into overtime, with the Blue Jays controlling play, but they could not get the winner.
