BALTIMORE - Aerik Williams (Columbus, OH/Columbus Academy), Chad Tarabolous (Tulsa, OK/Cascia Hall), and Matthew Doran (Stormville, NY/John Jay) each scored goals to lead the Johns Hopkins men's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Virginia Wesleyan in the championship game of the 2001 JHU Kick-Off Classic Sunday afternoon at Homewood Field.

Williams opened the scoring 20 minutes into the match when he scored on a penalty shot after being taken down inside the box. Less than three minutes later, Hopkins made it 2-0 when Tarabolous headed home a pass from David Walsh (Chatham, NJ/Chatham).

The Blue Jays took the two-goal lead into halftime, and made it a three-goal advantage at the 62 minute mark when Doran scored his second goal of the season. Billy Brush scored off an assist from Jon Mills to put the Virginia Wesleyan on the board, but the Marlins could not get closer.

Johns Hopkins midfielder Ryan Kitzen (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) received the classic's Offensive MVP award, while Blue Jay defender Adam Hack (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) took home Defensive MVP honors.
