BALTIMORE, MD - The 2007 NCAA Champion Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse team will be among nine national championship teams honored in a special ceremony at the White House on Friday, September 21. President George W. Bush will welcome the Blue Jays and their official travel party to the annual NCAA Champions Day. This will be the second trip to the White House in three years for the Blue Jays, who made their initial visit on July 12, 2005 after winning the 2005 national championship.

After arriving, the team will be escorted to the East Wing and State Floor and tour several of the historic White House rooms. President Bush will then join the teams on the State Floor and pose for photos with each team. At the conclusion of the photo session each team will be escorted to its seats on the White House's South Lawn. One representative from each team will be seated on stage as the President addresses the group.

Each team will also have an opportunity to present President Bush with a commemorative gift. The Blue Jays will be presenting President Bush with a gift for himself and Mrs. Bush. Other schools scheduled to be in attendance with Johns Hopkins include Arizona State (Women's Indoor/Outdoor Track), Brown (Women's Crew), Duke (Women's Golf), Oregon State (Baseball), Tennessee (Women's Basketball), Alaska (Men's and Women's Rifle), Minnesota (Wrestling) and Stanford (Women's Cross Country).

Johns Hopkins posted a 13-4 record in 2007 and won the program's ninth NCAA Championship and 44th overall national championship. The Blue Jays will return eight starters and 10 of their top 11 scorers in 2008, when they will look to become the first team to win back-to-back men's lacrosse championships since Princeton in 1997 and 1998.
