Rabil was one of just two non-seniors named to the first team and brings Hopkins' record total of first team All-America selections to 175.
Joining Rabil on the team from Johns Hopkins were senior midfielder Greg Peyser (Lloyd Harbor, NY/Cold Spring Harbor) and sophomore attackman Kevin Huntley (Towson, MD/Calvert Hall), who both garnered third team status. Senior defenseman Matt Pinto (Baltimore, MD/Loyola) and junior goalie Jesse Schwartzman (Owings Mils, MD/Pikesville) round out the Blue Jay contingent as both garnered honorable mention status.
Rabil led the Blue Jays in scoring with 25 goals and 13 assists for 38 points and is the first sophomore midfielder from Johns Hopkins to earn First Team All-America honors since A.J. Haugen in 1998. His totals this season improve his two-year career totals to 48 goals and 27 assists for 75 points. He has been especially impressive in Hopkins' NCAA Tournament games in his career as he has 10 goals and 10 assists in six career games in the NCAA Tournament. Peyser emerged as the team's workhorse this season as he held down a spot on the first midfield and was the team's top faceoff specialist as well. He scored 13 goals and added a team and personal-best 14 assists for a career-high 27 points. He also won 90-of-146 (.616) faceoffs and led the team with 68 ground balls. He finishes his career as Hopkins' career leader in faceoff winning percentage (.617 / 298-of-483). Peyser earned Honorable Mention All-America honors last season.
Huntley picked up where he left off last season as he led the team in goals (30) and finished second in points (36). He twice scored a career-high five goals during the 2006 season and has registered at least one point in 26 of the 29 games he has played in during his career. His efforts this season improve his career totals to 53 goals and 12 assists for 65 points.
Pinto makes his second straight appearance on the All-America team as an honorable mention selection. He started all 14 games this season to run his consecutive games started streak to 45 games. He scooped up 16 ground balls and anchored a Hopkins defense that allowed just 8.2 goals per game and held nine of 14 teams to nine goals or less.
Schwartzman also earns a repeat selection as an Honorable Mention All-American. He started all 14 games and posted an 8.15 goals against average and a .563 save percentage. He moved into the top 10 on JHU's career saves list this season and now ranks ninth in school history with 344 to his credit. Sports a 27-5 record as the Blue Jays' starting goalie, including a 6-1 mark in the NCAA Tournament.
