BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins (8-6) will host Duke (12-4) in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Tournament it was announced on Sunday evening. The Johns Hopkins-Duke game will take place on Saturday, May 13 at 2:30 pm and will air live on ESPNU. Johns Hopkins earned an at-large bid to the tournament and is the number six seed in the tournament, while Duke also earned an at-large bid to the tournament.

Ticket Information
Tickets for the Johns Hopkins-Duke game are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.  Johns Hopkins and Duke students with valid school ID are also $5. Tickets can be purchased online in advance and at the gate on game day. Gates and ticket windows will open at 1 pm on gameday.

There is ample parking on the Homewood Campus on gameday, but not all lots are immediately adjacent to Homewood Field. A parking map for Johns Hopkins University is available by clicking here.  The three best lots for use on gameday are #66 (115 W. University Parkway), #58 (Muller Deck - lower level - enter across from building #57 - Steven Muller Building ... do not pull in where you see the TV trucks) and #32 (San Martin Garage).  There will be a fee to park on campus on the day of the game.

A Look at the Bracket
The winner of the Johns Hopkins-Duke first-round game will advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals at Hofstra on May 20 (time TBA). The winner of the Hopkins-Duke game will play the winner of the Ohio State-Loyola first-round game in the quarterfinals. Ohio State is the number three seed in the tournament.

Johns Hopkins' NCAA Tournament History
Johns Hopkins is making its record 45th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and is one of four Big Ten teams in the field of 17 as Maryland (number one seed), Ohio State (3rd) and Penn State (7th) join Johns Hopkins in the field. The Big Ten produced four of the seven top seeds in the tournament.



Johns Hopkins boasts a 70-35 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament with nine NCAA titles to its credit. The Blue Jays’ 70 wins and 18 championship-game appearances are both national records.

The Johns Hopkins-Duke Series
Johns Hopkins and Duke are no strangers when it comes to meeting in the NCAA Tournament as the teams have met six times in the NCAAs, including five times since 2005. Johns Hopkins is 12-6 all-time against Duke and the teams have split the six matchups in the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Jays topped the Blue Devils in the 2005 and 2007 NCAA Championship games, while Duke parlayed first round and quarterfinal wins over Johns Hopkins in 2010 and 2014, respectively, into NCAA titles of its own.
