BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse team jumped into the top 10 in the nation in the USILA Coaches Poll and the Maverik Media Poll this week after opening the season with a 14-6 victory against Towson last Saturday night at Homewood Field.
The Blue Jays moved up to number nine in the USILA Coaches Poll after checking in at number 11 in the preseason. Hopkins jumped five spots in the media poll as this week's number eight ranking comes after a number 13 ranking from the media in the preseason poll.
For historical purposes, the Johns Hopkins Athletic Communications office uses the USILA Poll to represent the team's official national ranking at the time of a game.
The Blue Jays will hit the road for the first time in 2018 this week as they will make the short trip up Charles Street to take on Loyola (0-1). The Greyhounds, who are ranked 12th in this week's media poll and 14th in the coaches poll, dropped a 13-12 overtime decision at Virginia in their season opener on February 10.
