BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins senior goalie Brock Turnbaugh has been named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week for his efforts in the Blue Jays’ 14-6 season-opening win over Towson it was announced by the league today. This is the eighth time a Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse player has earned Big Ten Specialist of the Week honors since the league was formed in 2015; it is also the first selection for Turnbaugh. Gerald Logan was the last Blue Jay to earn the award (February 28, 2017).

Turnbaugh posted 13 saves and allowed just six goals in a 14-6 victory against 2017 NCAA Semifinalist Towson. The 13 saves are tied for the second highest total of his career. Johns Hopkins (1-0) returns to action Saturday, February 17 when the Blue Jays make the short trip up Charles Street to take on Loyola Maryland.
