LANCASTER, PA - Johns Hopkins senior defensive back Richard Hill (Huntington Station, NY/St. Anthony's) has been named the Centennial Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in Saturday's 31-3 season-ending win at rival McDaniel. The selection is the first of Hill's career and marks the fourth time this season a Johns Hopkins player has earned the award.

Hill entered the final game of his career having never returned a kickoff since arriving at Johns Hopkins. Head coach Jim Margraff didn't hesitate to put Hill deep on the opening kickoff of the game and Hill responded with a 90-yard return for a touchdown. The kickoff return was the first for a touchdown by a Johns Hopkins player since Harrison Bernstein returned one 95 yards for a score against King's Point on September 25, 1999. The 90-yard return is also the fourth-longest on record in the history of the Johns Hopkins football program.

Hill added six tackles and one pass breakup in the win at McDaniel and finished the season ranked fourth on the team in tackles with a career-high 60, including 2.5 for losses. He also led the team with eight pass breakups and added one forced fumble and one blocked extra point.
