LANCASTER, PA - Johns Hopkins junior running back Andrew Kase (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) has been named the Centennial Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his effort in Friday's 36-34 win over Dickinson. This is the second time this season that Kase has been honored as the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week. He shares the award this week with Dickinson's Pat O'Connor.

Kase powered the Blue Jays (4-2, 2-2 Centennial) past the Red Devils as he rushed a career-high 41 times for 224 yards and three touchdowns and totaled 228 all-purpose yards. The 224 yards are the second-highest total of his career and the sixth-best total in school history. It was also his school-record-tying fourth straight 100-yard rushing game and he is now the only player in school history to rush for 220 or more yards more than once. Making Kase's effort even more impressive was Dickinson's defensive standing entering the game. The Red Devils had allowed just 87.4 yards per game on the ground prior to the game against Johns Hopkins.

Kase currently leads the team, ranks second in the Centennial Conference and 20th in the nation in rushing as he is averaging 133.8 yards per game. His 803 rushing yards are already the 10th-highest single-season total in school history and his 10 rushing touchdowns on the year are just one shy of the JHU single-season record.

Kase's effort against Dickinson also pushed him past 2,000 rushing yards in his career. He now has 2,122 yards to his credit, which is good for seventh place on JHU's career rushing list. His 2,122 yards are already the most ever by a Blue Jay running back as a junior and his 224-yard showing against Dickinson was also the 12th career 100-yard rushing game of his career, which is just one shy of the school record.

Johns Hopkins will travel to Ursinus (2-3, 1-2 CC) on Saturday to take on the Bears. Game time at Patterson Field in Collegeville, Pennsylvania is set for 1 pm.
