Tammaro Named Centennial Offensive Player of the Week
 


David Tammaro accounted for 382 yards and four touchdowns in Johns Hopkins' 38-34 come-from-behind win against Susquehanna.

LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins sophomore quarterback David Tammaro has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Blue Jays to a 38-34 come-from-behind victory against Susquehanna on Saturday. This is the first time Tammaro has earned the award.

Tammaro was 34-of-49 for 299 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for a career-high 83 yards and one score in the victory against the River Hawks. He led the Blue Jays back from deficits of 14-3 and 27-17 and directed a seven-play, 73-yard drive in the final 80 seconds of the fourth quarter that he capped with an eight-yard touchdown pass to senior Brett Caggiano for the decisive score with 24 seconds remaining.

Tammaro is in his first season as the Blue Jays’ starting quarterback and has directed a pair of come-from-behind wins in his first two starts. Through two games he is 76-of-110 (.691) for 725 yards with five touchdown passes and he has also rushed for 105 yards and two more scores.

Johns Hopkins (2-0, 1-0 Centennial) will return to action on Saturday, September 16 when the Blue Jays host Moravian.
