Jenifer Earns Second Team Preseason All-America Honors from d3football.com

BALTIMORE, MD –- Johns Hopkins rising junior tackle Armand Jenifer (Teaneck, NJ/Bergen County Academies) has been selected as a Preseason Second Team All-American by d3football.com. This is the second preseason All-America nod for Jenifer, who previously earned second team honors in Lindy’s 2012 College Football Preview. Jenifer was one of just two non-seniors among the 10 offensive linemen selected to the first and second team. Jenifer established himself as one of the top young offensive linemen in the nation last season as he started all 11 games at right tackle and earned Second Team d3football.com All-South, Second Team All-ECAC South and First Team All-Centennial Conference honors. He led the way for an offense that averaged school records of 39.8 points and 492.7 yards per game. Jenifer was the only non-senior offensive lineman in the Centennial Conference to earn first team all-league honors and he was one of just two sophomore offensive linemen in the nation to earn first or second team all-region honors from d3football.com. Under the guidance of head coach Jim Margraff, Johns Hopkins posted a 10-1 record, won its third straight Centennial Conference title and finished the season ranked 19th in the AFCA Division III Poll in 2011. The Centennial title was the seventh for Johns Hopkins since 2002, while the Blue Jays made their third trip to the NCAA Playoffs since 2005. Johns Hopkins will carry a 14-game regular season winning streak into the 2012 season and will open the season at home for the first time since 2008 when Randolph-Macon visits Homewood Field on Saturday, September 1.
