The Johns Hopkins men's fencing team won all three of its duals on Sunday at the Stevens Invitational. The Blue Jays defeated Stevens Tech, 22-5, Hunter, 19-8, and Army, 17-10, to improve their record to 23-8 on the season.
Freshman Jason Park (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) finished a perfect 9-0 to lead Hopkins in the sabre, while senior Yong Kwon (Bronx, NY/Fordham Prep) went 6-3. Sophomore Fred Lee (Garland, TX/North Garland) compiled a 2-4 mark in the sabre, while sophomore Bin Luo (Commack, NY/Commack) went 1-2.
Junior Matt Bouloubasis (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) won all eight of his duals in the epee, while sophomore John Majewski (Wrentham, MA/King Philip Regional) went 6-2. Senior Dave Kotlyar (Holland, PA/Council Rock) finished 4-1 in the epee, and sophomore Anson Tang (Plano, TX/Illinois Math and Science Academy) went 1-2.
Sophomore Brian Bishe' (Glen Ridge, NJ/Montclair Kimberley Academy) led the Blue Jays in the foil with a 6-1 record, while junior Emanuel Strauss (New York, NY/U.N. International School) finished 6-2. Senior Daniel Frank (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) went 5-4, while sophomore Marcos Kuroki (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Escala Maria Imaculada) finished 1-2 in the foil.
Hopkins returns to Hoboken, NJ, on Sunday to compete in the MACFA Championships.
