Baltimore, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's fencing team won all four of its dual meets Sunday afternoon in the White Athletic Center to improve its record to 17-3 this season.

The Blue Jays opened action with a 22-5 win over Virginia, and next defeated New Jersey Tech, 20-7. Hopkins then posted a 19-8 victory over William & Mary before ending the day with a 15-12 triumph over Drew.

Sophomore Brian Bishe' (Glen Ridge, NJ/Montclair Kimberley Academy) went a perfect 11-0 to lead the JHU foil team, while junior Emanuel Strauss (New York, NY/U.N. International School) finished 9-2. Senior Daniel Frank (Manaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) compiled an 8-2 mark in the foil, and sophomore Marcos Kuroki (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Escala Maria Imaculada) went 3-1.
 

 

Junior Matt Bouloubasis (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) won all 11 of his duals in the epee, and senior Dave Kotlyar (Holland, PA/Council Rock) finished 6-2. Sophomore John Majewski (Wrentham, MA/King Philip Regional) went 6-5 in the epee, while sophomore Anson Tang (Plano, TX/Illinois Math and Science Academy) finished the day 3-3.

Senior Yong Kwon (Bronx, NY/Fordham Prep) led Hopkins in the sabre by posting an 8-3 record, and sophomore Bin Luo (Commack, NY/Commack) went 4-4. Freshman Jason Park (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) finished 5-6 in the sabre, while sophomore Fred Lee (Garland, TX/North Garland) went 1-4.

The Blue Jays return to action on Friday by competing in the Duke Invitational in Durham, NC. Hopkins will face the host Blue Devils along with Air Force, Notre Dame, Stanford, and North Carolina.
