Madison, NJ - Senior Matt Bouloubasis (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) finished third in the epee as the Johns Hopkins men's fencing team competed in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Championships Saturday on the campus of Drew University.

Bouloubasis is expected to qualify for the NCAA Championships, being held from March 25 through 28 in Waltham, MA on the campus of Brandeis University.

Junior John Majewski (Wrentham, MA/King Philip Regional) advanced to the second round of the epee competition and placed 18th, while freshman Tom Fellows (Beverly, MA/St. John's Prep) was eliminated in the first round and finished in 24th place.

Junior Bryan Bishe' (Glen Ridge, NJ/Montclair Kimberley) advanced to the semifinals en route to an 11th-place finish in the foil, while freshman Nick Marchuk (Ringoes, NJ/The Hun School at Princeton) advanced to the second round and placed 14th. Senior Mark Riso (Jupiter, FL/The Benjamin School) came in 23rd in the foil for the Blue Jays.

Sophomore Jason Park (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) was the lone Hopkins competitor in the sabre, as he advanced to the second round and finished in 17th place.
