MADISON, NJ - Junior Ben Dorfman (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) placed sixth at the NCAA Mid Atlantic Fencing Regionals on Saturday in the Foil, his highest finish ever. He is the fifth Blue Jay under head coach Austin Young to place in the top 10.
Dorfman won five of his 11 bouts in the finals to finish in sixth place in the Foil. Just missing out on the finals was junior David Ferguson (New York, NY/Stuyvesant), who finished in 13th place. Junior Jimmy Einsiedler (Falmouth, ME/Waynflete School) placed 21st and sophomore Paul Nunley (Glen Gardner, NJ/Voorhees) finished in 25th.
In the Epee, freshman Nick Krywopusk (Richboro, PA/Princeton Day School (NJ)) finished in 16th, with junior Dan Zielinski (Bernardsville, NJ/Bernards) placing 21st, freshman Thomas Ronan (New Haven, CT/Pinkerton Academy (NH)) in 23rd and sophomore Harry Oppenheim (Weston, FL/University School of NSU) finishing in 25th.
In the Sabre, senior Aaron Fernandes (Short Hills, NJ/Millburn) was the top finisher, coming in 19th. Freshmen Michael Fellows (Beverly, MA/St. John's Prep) placed 21st and Max Wieder (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) placed 23rd.
