MADISON, NJ - The Johns Hopkins University Men's Fencing team finished second overall in the team championships at the MACFA Championships on Sunday. In addition, freshman Daniel Zielinski (Bernardsville, NJ/Bernards) and junior Nick Marchuk (Ringoes, NJ/The Hun School) finished second in the individual championships.

The Jays took second overall in the Epee, first in the Foil and third in the Saber. Zielinski went 12-2 in the "A" Pool. Freshman Max Mealy (Davis, CA/Davis) went 6-7 in the "B" Pool. And freshman Dane Schiro (Hagerstown, MD/St. Maria Goretti) went undefeated at 13-0 in the "C" Pool.

In the Foil, freshman Ben Dorfman (Lebanon, NH/North Hunterdon) finished 10-3 in the "A" Pool. Freshman David Ferguson (New York, NY/Stuyvesant) posted a 12-1 record in the "B" Pool. Ferguson finished fourth in the individual championship. Marchuk went unbeaten at 13-0 in the "C" Pool.

In the Saber, senior Jason Park (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) went 9-4 in the "A" Pool. Freshman Geoff Chu (Short Hills, NJ/Millburn) also went 9-4 in the "B" Pool. And freshman Alex Bachman (Morristown, NJ/Oratory Prep) went unbeaten at 13-0 in the "C" Pool. He finished third in the individual championships.
