2016-17: Went 76-44 and led Sabre squad and team in wins • placed 19th (8-3) at Temple Open • won six bouts at Elite Invitational • went 6-3 at Columbia Invitational • won eight of nine bouts at Haverford Invitational • led Sabre squad with seven wins at Philadelphia Invitational • won six bouts at Duke Invitational • went 12-1 at Drew Invitational • went 4-2 at NJIT Invitational • placed ninth at MACFA Championships with 13-2 record • finished in 17th place at NCAA Regional with 6-9 record.

2015-16: Finished with a 73-45 record • led Sabre squad in wins • ranked second on the team in total wins • placed 28th (5-5) out of 75 at Temple Open • tied for 29th place (3-7) at Garret Open • won five bouts at Elite Invitational • went 7-3 at MACFA round robin • won nine bouts at Brandeis Invitational • clinched the Sabre squad’s win versus Brown • won four bouts at Duke • went unbeaten (7-0) at JHU Invitational and earned 100th career win • won all five bouts at Navy • went 8-4 at Philadelphia Invitational • posted a 13-13 record and finished fifth at the MACFA Championships • placed 20th at NCAA Regional.

2014-15: Finished with 63-23 record • led team and all freshmen with 63 wins • finished in a tie for third (out of 92) with a 12-1 record at the Temple Open in collegiate debut • tied for Sabre squad lead with nine wins at the Brandeis Invitational • went 3-0 versus Boston College at Brandeis • led Sabre squad with seven wins (7-1) at Philadelphia Invitational • won 10 of 11 bouts in home MACFA round robin • picked up six wins in MACFA round robin at Navy • placed fourth and helped Johns Hopkins win MACFA Championship with combined 14-3 record • placed 15th at NCAA Regional with 4-6 record.

Personal: John Vingoe • son of Nancy Matsumoto and Grant Vingoe • three-time team MVP • went 34-4 as a sophomore and 29-1 as a junior • finished with a 34-3 record, won ISFL individual Sabre championship and was ISFL Sabre wins leader as a senior • fenced eight years with Manhattan Fencing Center • also competed in track & field and finished in fifth in 800 meters at 2014 NYSAIS Track & Field Championships • Scholastic Writing Competition Gold Key recipient in 2009 • Junior Research Fellow, Atlantic Council of Canada • Dean’s List student majoring in international studies.
