BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins men's varsity crew coach Joel Carlin was named the Coach of the Year at the Mid Atlantic Division III Regional Championships last weekend. In addition, seniors Chris Vaglia (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) and Josiah Drewien (Hailey, ID/The Community School) were named to the All-Mid Atlantic Regional team. Freshman Daniel Bagdorf (Old Lyme, CT/Lyme-Old Lyme) was named to the Freshman All-Region team.

Carlin guided the Varsity 8 and Novice 8 crews to wins at the Mid-Atlantic Division III Regional Championships lats weekend. Vaglia and Drewien were both members of the Varsity 8 boat, while Bagdorf was in both the Novice 8 and Novice 4 boats.

Hopkins will compete in the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Crew Championships on May 4 in Lorton, VA.
