Men's Crew Results From Dad Vail Regatta May 17, 2005
PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's crew team competed at last weekend's Dad Vail Regatta on Philadelphia's Schuylkill River, where the men's pair boat placed third and the frosh novice heavyweight eight placed fifth in the semifinals. The best finish for Hopkins was in the men's pair, where the Blue Jay boat placed third in the semifinal with a time of 8:06.36. Duquesne won the semifinal with a time of 7:56.66 and advanced to the championship race with Florida Tech, which finished in 8:03.62. The frosh novice heavyweight eight placed fifth at 7:12.44 in the semifinal behind Colgate (6:45.92), Jacksonville (6:51.51), Michigan (6:54.40), and Rochester Tech (7:05.40) The Hopkins men's heavyweight varsity four finished in fifth place of its heat behind Rollins, Villanova, Okhlahoma City, and Delaware. The Blue Jays recorded a time of 7:01.34, while Rollins won the event in 6:41.38. The lightweight varsity four placed sixth in its heat with a time of 7:38.31, while Fordham won the race in 7:11.21.
