PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Johns Hopkins crew team opened the spring portion of its schedule at the Murphy Cup last weekend. The Blue Jays will next compete at the Caspersen Cup on Saturday in Chestertown, MD.

The varsity pair of Lukasz Bugaj (Kalamazoo, MI/Portage Northern) and Josiah Drewien (Hailey, ID/The Community School) finished fourth in their heat with a time of 7:12.09 in the first event. In the varsity four, the Blue Jays placed third with a time of 6:07.23 in their heat. In the novice eight, Hopkins placed fourth in its heat, with a time of 6:17.28. The Blue Jays wrapped up the day with a fourth place finish in the varsity eight in 5:41.69.
