BALTIMORE, MD - Chez Angeloni, a member of the 2009 Johns Hopkins baseball team and the Most Outstanding Player at the 2008 NCAA Division III College World Series, is currently pitching for the Gulf Coast League (GCL) Red Sox, an affiliate with the Boston Red Sox. Angeloni, a former starting pitcher for the Blue Jays, made the transition to a reliever with the GCL Red Sox.

The move to the bullpen benefited both the Red Sox and Angeloni. Over his last four appearances Angeloni has not allowed a run in 8.1 innings pitched. The Philadelphia native is tied for second on the team in victories with two, and also tied for second in games played with eight (among pitchers). Angeloni has pitched a total of 15 innings registering six strikeouts to only one walk. Overall he is 2-1 with a 4.80 ERA and the opposition is hitting just .258 against him.

The Red Sox are currently 16-16 in the GCL's Southern Division and sit two games out of first place.
