The Johns Hopkins baseball team remained in the No. 7 spot in the final American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Poll released Monday.
Hopkins fell to Rowan, 4-2 on the final day of the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Baseball Regional. The Blue Jays ended the season 40-4, setting school single-season record for wins and winning percentage.
Senior rightfielder Rob Morrison (Malibu, CA/Loyola) led the Blue Jays with a .477 batting average this season, while senior Tim Casale (West Hempstead, NY/Chaminade), the Centennial Player of the Year, hit .405 with team-highs of 44 runs scored, 5 triples and 27 stolen bases, to lead an offense that averaged 9.2 runs per game.
Centennial Pitcher of the Year Jeremy Brown (Baltimore, MD/McDonogh) anchored the Hopkins pitching staff by posting a 9-0 record and a 1.55 earned run average. Senior Matt Righter (Clarion, PA/Lawrenceville Prep) went 7-1 with a 2.44 earned run average.
