The Johns Hopkins baseball team remained in the No. 21 spot in the Final 2002 American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Poll released Tuesday.
The Blue Jays went 35-9 this season, just one win shy of the school record for wins in a season. Hopkins captured a second straight Centennial Conference Championship with a 16-2 mark in league play and earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament.
The Hopkins offense, which averaged over nine runs a game this season, was paced by sophomore left fielder Craig Cetta (Randolph, NJ/Randolph), who batted .356 and led the Blue Jays with 47 hits, 39 runs batted in, and 10 doubles. Senior Yani Rosenberg (Baltimore, MD/Gilman) led the JHU pitching staff with a 9-1 record and a 1.52 earned run average.
