Hopkins Ranked 11th in Final ABCA Coaches Poll

BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins baseball team fell three spots to 11th in the final American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III poll released on Tuesday. The Blue Jays (34-7) received 154 points and are the lone Centennial Conference school in the top-30.
Hopkins, which remained second in the Mid-Atlantic region, was ranked eighth in the last poll on May 12 after winning the Centennial Conference Championship and earning the second seed for the NCAA Regional Tournament.
The Blue Jays posted a 2-2 record in the tournament and advanced to the final day before being eliminated. JHU defeated Alvernia, 14-4, in its opening game before dropping a 9-5 decision to DeSales in its second game. Hopkins then topped sixth-ranked Rowan, 3-1, in an elimination game, but fell to DeSales, 8-4, the following day.
Hopkins won 30 games for the third consecutive season and reached the NCAA Tournament for the 12th time in school history. The Blue Jays won their sixth Centennial Championship, third straight, and improved to 409-151-1 (.729) since the start of the 1990 season.
