BOYERTOWN, PA - Senior outfielder Mike DePalma (Norwalk, CT/Norwalk) and senior second baseman Karl Sineath (West Chester, PA/West Chester Henderson) were named to the 2002 NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament Team for their outstanding play as Hopkins posted a 1-2 record to finish the year with a 35-9 record.

DePalma batted .500 (6-for-12) with two runs and two RBIs while adding a double and a stolen base. He was 2-for-4 with a run batted in versus the College of New Jersey in the opener and followed that by going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI as JHU defeated Kean, 8-4. In JHU's final game against DeSales, DePalma was 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, and a run scored. He raised his average to a team-best .449 (40-for-89) for the season and batted .548 (17-for-31) over his last eight games.

Sineath raised his season average to .308 as he batted .538 (7-for-13) in the tournament. He also scored three runs and added a double and two stolen bases. Sineath, who became JHU's all-time leader in runs scored (171) and stolen bases (98) this season, moved into a tie for second place at Hopkins with 185 career hits. He was 3-for-4 with one run and a stolen base versus the College of New Jersey in the opener, then went 2-for-5 with two runs and a stolen base against Kean. Sineath added two hits in four at-bats in the final versus DeSales.
