BALTIMORE, MD - With a doubleheader split against Muhlenberg on Saturday, the Johns Hopkins baseball team earned the top seed for the inaugural Centennial Conference (CC) Baseball Tournament this weekend. The Blue Jays, 30-6 overall, were joined by Franklin & Marshall with a 16-2 CC record, but earn the top seed as a result of defeating the Diplomats in both regular season meetings. As the top seed, JHU will host games on Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday, No. 4 seed Muhlenberg (21-15, 11-7) will travel to play the third seed Ursinus Bears (19-17, 13-5) in Collegeville, Pennsylvania at 3:30 p.m. The winner advances to play No. 2 seed Franklin & Marshall (29-8, 16-2) at Hopkins on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Blue Jays will then face the winner of Saturday's first game in a best-of-three series, with one game on Saturday and possibly two on Sunday. A complete schedule of games is listed below.

The winner of the Centennial Conference Tournament receives an automatic bid to the 2002 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament. Hopkins will be looking for its fifth conference title and 11th NCAA Tournament appearance, while Ursinus has won the Centennial three times and Franklin & Marshall has one CC title to its credit.
