LANCASTER, PA - Johns Hopkins senior Jeremy Brown (Baltimore, MD/McDonogh School) was named Centennial Conference Pitcher-of-the-Week and junior Tim Casale (West Hempstead, NY/Chaminade) earned Co-Player-of-the-Week honors, the league announced Monday.

Brown went 2-0 in two starts last week as he struck out 25 batters and allowed just two runs and 11 hits in 16 innings. He struck out a career-high 14 and allowed just one run on six hits in a complete game win against McDaniel (8-1). Brown followed that with 11 strikeouts in seven innings as he went the distance in a 6-1 win over Muhlenberg.

Brown, who earned Centennial Pitcher-of-the-Week for the second time this season, is tied for the team lead with six wins and has totaled a team-high 60 strikeouts in 48.2 innings. He has allowed 37 hits and limited opponents to a combined average of .206.

Casale was 7-for-13 (.538) with two runs, six RBIs and two home runs in four games last week. He went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in as JHU defeated McDaniel, 8-1, in a key Centennial Conference contest. Casale then hit a home run and added an RBI double against Washington and belted a two-run home run, providing the winning margin, in a 3-2 win over Muhlenberg.

The Blue Jays, 26-4 overall and 13-2 in the conference, return to action Tuesday as Hopkins travels to face Montclair State in a non-conference contest beginning at 7:00 p.m. >
