Lancaster, PA - Johns Hopkins senior catcher Bryan Eberle (Frederick, MD/Urbana) was named the Centennial Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Eberle hit .750 and tied for the team lead with five runs batted in last week as Hopkins won all six of its games to clinch the Centennial Conference regular season championship.

Eberle went 4-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's 9-2 victory at McDaniel, and was 2-for-3 with a run batted in during Saturday's 11-4 win over Haverford. He then was 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs in the 17-0 shutout at Swarthmore on Sunday.

Eberle, who has appeared in 18 games this season while starting 11, is batting .391 with three doubles, two triples and seven runs batted in. He has also thrown out four of seven baserunners attempting to steal.

Eberle and the top-ranked Blue Jays, who are 30-0 overall and 15-0 in the league, host Catholic Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
