Results: The Blue Jays currently sport a 21-4 record after posting a 5-0 record last week. JHU defeated Washington College twice (17-10, 10-1), swept a doubleheader from Franklin & Marshall (4-1, 8-7), and won a 9-6 decision over Catholic in non-conference action.
Up Next: JHU opens the week at home Monday afternoon against Villa Julie at 3:30 pm. The Blue Jays defeated the Mustangs, 14-3, in the second game of the year. Hopkins then travels to face Dickinson on Tuesday at 3:30 pm. JHU returns home to play the Red Devils again on Friday at 3:30 pm before ending the week with a doubleheader at Swarthmore on Saturday.
The Coach: Bob Babb is in his 23rd season as head coach of the Blue Jay baseball. Babb, who is the all-time winningest men's baseball coach in JHU history, sports a 601-235-8 (.716) record. Babb became the 14th active Division III head coach with 600 wins as JHU defeated Franklin & Marshall, 4-1, last Saturday. Under Babb's guidance, Hopkins has captured 10 Middle Atlantic Conference Southeast League titles, seven UAA titles, four Centennial Conference Championships, and made nine appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

* Consistent Winning: JHU has recorded a winning record for 23 straight seasons, including every year under coach Babb. Last season the Blue Jays won 33 games, marking the seventh time Hopkins has won at least 30 games. JHU has also won at least 25 games for 10 consecutive years. * Babb Reaches 600 Wins: Head coach Bob Babb picked up his 600th and 601st career victories with JHU doubleheader sweep of Franklin & Marshall last Saturday. He became the 14th active Division III head coach to win 600 games and currently sports a 601-235-8 (.716) career record in 23 seasons at Hopkins. Below is a list of Babb's milestone victories:

* Strength in Numbers: Through 25 games, JHU has displayed its depth as 25 players have seen action in the field and 12 pitchers have taken the mound. Twenty-two players have tallied at least one hit, while 22 players have scored a run and 21 players have at least one RBI. Eighteen players have started at least 5 games and 17 players have 26 or more at-bats. Eight pitchers have started two or more games and all 12 pitchers have see action in three or more games.
* Power Surge: With seven home runs this past week, the Blue Jays now have 40 for the year to easily surpass last season's total of 31. Fifteen players have hit a home run, while 12 players have two or more homers. If the team keeps the pace of 1.60 home runs per game through the team's 40-game schedule, Hopkins would finish the regular season with a school-record 64 home runs. The 1998 team set the record with 45 home runs in 40 games. Last year, the team combined for 31 home runs in 47 games.
* Scoring in Bunches: The Blue Jays have scored 249 runs in the team's first 25 games for an average of 9.96 runs per game. Hopkins has scored 10 or more runs in 11 games and scored four or more runs in an inning 16 times. JHU scored a season-high 27 runs against Robert Morris, the most since a 30-0 win over Dickinson in 1987, including 14 in the sixth inning. Last season, the Blue Jays averaged 7.02 runs per game for a total of 330 runs.
* Sineath Approaches School Records: Senior second baseman Karl Sineath leads Hopkins with 29 runs scored and 14 stolen bases to move closer to the school career marks in both categories. Sineath has 92 career stolen bases to rank second at JHU, just three steals behind Tom Finegan (95). He also ranks third at Hopkins with 155 career runs, needing nine to pass John Christ (163) for the all-time lead.
*Rosenberg Reaches 200-K Mark: Senior Yani Rosenberg has totaled 35 strikeouts in 29 innings this season to pass the 200-strikeout mark and move into second place at JHU with 223 for his career. Rosenberg, the third pitcher in school history to record over 200 strikeouts, needs 19 k's to become JHU's all-time leader. Rosenberg is also third at Hopkins in career winning percentage (.884, 23-3) and has won his last 12 decisions dating back to last season.
* Quick Notes: ~ The Blue Jays are hitting .366 (122-for-333) with runners in scoring position and .545 (12-for-22) with the bases loaded. ~ In 205 innings, the pitching staff currently has one less strikeout (178) than hits allowed (179). ~ JHU's current nine-game winning streak is the team's longest since winning 11 straight during the 1998 season. That year the Blue Jays had winning streaks of 11 and 16 games. ~ Freshman Mike Durgala is 10-for-15 (.667) over his last six games, and collected seven consecutive hits over three games last week, including a 4-for-4 performance versus Catholic. Earlier this season, senior Mike DePalma tallied seven consecutive hits. including a 5-for-5 effort against Amherst. ~ After missing seven games due to injury, senior Ben Taylor is 8-for-19 (.421) with eight runs and nine RBIs in the team's last seven games. He currently leads the club with five home runs and has moved into eighth place at JHU with 15 career home runs. ~ Sophomore Brian Morley hit home runs in back-to-back games last week. He hit a two-run shot versus Catholic and added a solo homer against Washington College.
