Week In Review
Hopkins ran its win streak to 13 games with victories in its first three contests last week. The Blue Jays saw the streak come to a halt in the second game of the doubleheader at Muhlenberg on Sunday.

The Blue Jays won at Washington, in a rain shortened affair at Catholic and the first game at Muhlenberg.

Senior catcher Tony Margve hit .600 for the week while senior center fielder Rob Pietroforte stroked the ball at a .545 clip.

The Week Ahead
Hopkins has another busy week as the Blue Jays have five games in five days on the schedule starting Tuesday. The Blue Jays visit Gettysburg on Tuesday before returning home to host Villa Julie and Gettysburg on Thursday and Friday. Hopkins will wrap up the week by visiting Ursinus for a doubleheader on Saturday.

Team/Individual Notes
Rain, Rain, Go Away: The rain has forced multiple postponements to the Blue Jays' schedule this season. The latest was the postponement of Monday's game with Washington, which will now be made up on April 16.

100x3 and counting: Senior left fielder Jon Solomon reached 100 career hits in game-one of the doubleheader on Sunday. He is the third member of the senior class to reach 100 hits for their career, joining Jonas Fester and Rob Pietroforte, who reached the mark last year. Senior catcher Tony Margve has 99 career hits entering Tuesday's game at Gettysburg and would make it the first class since the 1983-86 class to have four guys reach the mark.

Caught Blue Handed: Hopkins has done a solid job of controlling the opponents' running game this year. Opponents' have stolen 9-of-18 bases against the Blue Jays. Margve has thrown out six of seven attempts and senior Joe Zaccaria has thrown out all five of the attempts against him.

I'm Honored: Pietroforte and senior Ryan Kealy earned a spot on the Centennial Conference Honor Roll for their performances in four games last week. Pietroforte hit .545 as five of his six hits were for extra bases while Kealy picked up a win and a save in two appearances last week.

Look Out Lefties: Senior Ryan Kuhlman has had much success against left-handed batters. Left-handed opponents are hitting just .143 against Kuhlman this season.

Clutch Hitting: Hopkins is hitting .702 with a runner on third and less then two outs this season. Leading the way for the Blue Jays is sophomore Brian Youchak who has 10 RBIs in 11 chances and junior Ryan Biner with eight RBIs in nine opportunities.

Streaking: Hopkins saw its 13-game win streak snapped with the game-two loss to Muhlenberg on Sunday. The Blue Jays' streak was tied for the sixth longest in school history, the 1980 squad also had a 13-game streak.

Topping the Charts: Hopkins leads the Centennial Conference in several statistical categories entering this week. The Blue Jays' .391 average, 4.29 ERA and .963 fielding percentage are all tops in the league. In addition the Blue Jays hold the top six batting average's in the league led by Biner's .542. Senior third baseman Todd Emr also leads the league in hits with 36.

I'll take that: Hopkins has had success on the base paths so far this season. The Blue Jays have stolen 64 bases in 73 attempts this year. The team is led by Pietroforte, who has 14 in 15 attempts and Youchak, who is a perfect eight for eight this season.

Cracking the Top 10: Pietroforte and Kuhlman both cracked the top ten in the JHU career stats this week. Pietroforte now ranks among the top ten in school history in triples (11), doubles (35), RBIs (121), runs scored (127) and walks (72). Kuhlman recorded the 161st strikeout of his career against Muhlenberg and cracked the top ten for career strikeouts. The two join their classmate Fester, who ranks among the top ten in hits (177), doubles (48), RBIs (121), runs scored (139), stolen bases (68) and at bats (448).

Streaking (Part Two): Hopkins' saw its 13-game win streak come to an end on Sunday. The Blue Jays however put up some impressive numbers during the streak. As a team the Blue Jays hit .414 with 65 of their 206 hits going for extra bases. The pitching staff posted an ERA of 3.50 during the stretch and struck out 116 batters. Individually the Blue Jays were led by Emr and Kuhlman. Emr hit .604 during the stretch with 29 hits while Kuhlman had a 1.38 ERA in 13 innings of work.
