Lancaster, PA - Johns Hopkins senior righthander Matt Righter (Clarion, PA/Lawrenceville Prep) was named the Centennial Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Righter went 2-0 last week while posting a 0.90 earned run average in two appearances. He allowed one run on two hits while striking out six in three innings of relief to pick up the win in the 5-3 victory over Gettysburg on Tuesday. Righter then threw a seven-inning complete game, giving up zero earned runs on eight hits with three strikeouts in the second 4-3 win over Ursinus on Saturday.

Righter is 2-0 on the season with a 0.82 earned run average in 22.0 innings pitched. He has allowed just two earned runs on 16 hits while recording 19 strikeouts this year, and opponents are batting just .198 against him.

Dickinson first baseman Geoff Neese was named the conference player of the week.
