BALTIMORE, MD -

Junior Marco Simmons of the Johns Hopkins baseball team recently chatted with HopkinsSports.com about the excitements of being a Blue Jay. JHU is currently playing in Phoenix, AZ in the RussMatt Invitational for its annual spring break trip.

Simmons made 13 appearances in 2008 and has thrown 7.1 innings so far in 2009. The senior owns a 4.91 ERA in 2009 and earned eight strikeouts in his two appearances this season.

Simmons hails from nearby Gilman High School in Baltimore, MD and played football at Hopkins his freshman year. He and his high school teammate Tim Rappazzo both came to JHU from Gilman. The junior is an international relations major. Here is the rundown of what Simmons had to say to HopkinsSports.com.
