* Consistent Winning: JHU has recorded a winning record for 23 straight seasons, including every year under coach Babb. Last season the Blue Jays won 33 games, marking the seventh time Hopkins has won at least 30 games. JHU has also won at least 25 games for 10 consecutive years. Below is a list of the seasons in which the Blue Jays have won at least 30 games:
Year, Record, Postseason
* Strength in Numbers: Through six games, JHU has displayed its depth as 21 players have seen action in the field and 12 pitchers have taken the mound. Nineteen players have tallied at least one hit, while 17 players have at least one RBI. Hopkins has used a different starting lineup is every game, and used entirely different lineups for each game in the doubleheader versus SUNY-New Paltz.
* Power Surge: The Blue Jays have hit seven home runs, by seven different players, in the first six games. If the team kept the pace of 1.16 through the 40-game schedule, Hopkins would finish the regular season with a school-record 46 home runs. The 1998 team set the record with 45 home runs in 40 games. Last year, the team combined for 31 home runs in 47 games.
* Sineath Approaches Steals Record: With seven stolen bases in the team's first six games, senior second baseman Karl Sineath increased his career total to 85. He needs just 11 more steals to break the school-record of 95 set by Tom Finegan ('85-'88). Last season, Sineath set a Hopkins single-season record with 36 stolen bases in 39 attempts. For his career, Sineath has 85 steals in 94 attempts. He is tied for the team lead with eight runs scored and has moved into a tie for fourth place at JHU with 134 career runs.
*Rosenberg & Setty Continue Winning: Seniors Jason Setty and Yani Rosenberg, who rank second and third on JHU's career winning percentage list, have combined for three of the team's four wins this year. Setty has posted a 2-0 mark to improve his career record to 14-2 (.875), while Rosenberg is 1-0 to run his career mark to 20-3 (.869). Scott Orlovsky holds the JHU record for career winning percentage as he recorded a 29-3 (.906) mark from 1995-98.

He also leads the club with 14 total bases and four walks, while ranking second on the team with six runs scored and three stolen bases. A versatile player with solid defensive skills, Ippolito has started at least one game at third base, shortstop, and second base. He went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and his first career home run in JHU's 14-3 win over Villa Julie and drove in three runs in a 7-6 loss to SUNY-New Paltz.
