The Johns Hopkins baseball team's 2004 season-opener scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. against Salisbury has been postponed due to poor field conditions.
The game is tentatively moved to Sunday, May 9, but could also be played the following weekend.
The Blue Jays, who went 34-7 last season and advanced to the NCAA Regionals, are ranked No. 3 in 2004 Baseball America Preseason Poll and No. 6 in the 2004 ABCA/Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll. Hopkins hosts Messiah on Friday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. and SUNY-New Paltz on Sunday, March 7 in a doubleheader beginning at 12 noon.
