LITTLE RIVER, NJ - Montclair State junior Jeff Gogal struck out seven batters and did not allow an earned run in his third complete game of the season to lead Montclair State past Johns Hopkins, 6-2, Tuesday evening in non-conference baseball action at Yogi Berra Stadium.

Gogal struck out seven batters and gave up just three hits as he improved to 7-1 on the year, while Montclair State improved to 16-16-1 with its third consecutive win. The Blue Jays had their 11-game winning streak snapped and fell to 28-5 on the year.

The Red Hawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first and extended the margin to 6-0 with a single run in the third and two more in the fourth. Hopkins tallied two runs in the seventh, but would get no closer.

Junior Bryan Eberle (Frederick, MD/Urbana) was 1-for-3 with a run batted in for Hopkins, while freshman Gary Rosenberg (West Bloomfield, MI/West Bloomfield) was 1-for-4 with a run and sophomore Eric Nigro (Randolph, NJ/Taft Prep) scored a run. Freshman Corey Gleason (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) recorded his eighth double for JHU's only other hit.

Junior Adam Josephart (West Nyack, NY/Clarktown South) suffered his first loss of the season as he allowed four runs on four hits while striking out two in three innings.

Mike Halligan was 2-for-2 with three RBIs for Montclair State, while P.J. Baccarella went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two runs batted in.

The Blue Jays return home to conclude their Centennial Conference schedule on Wednesday as Hopkins host Gettysburg at 3:30 p.m.
