Junior Dave Montegari (West Hempstead, NY/Chaminade) doubled with one out in the second, and after senior Sven Stafford (Evanston, IL/Evanston) walked, both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Casale then tripled to right field to score them both and give the Blue Jays a four-run lead.

Casale was then erased when junior Mike Spiciarich (Syosset, NY/Chaminade) bounced into a fielder's choice, but after Spiciarich stole second, Nigro and Rosenberg each walked to force in a run. Senior Craig Cetta (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) followed with a three-run double to left to make it an 11-0 game. Elizabethtown got on the board in the fourth as Steve Luongo doubled and scored on a single by Eric Guise, and tacked on a run in the fifth when Jon Kalejta led off with a walk and scored on a double by Seth Guida. However, Hopkins went back up 11 by scoring twice in the top of the sixth. Spiciarich led off the frame with a double, advanced to third on a flyout by Winterling and scored on a single by Nigro. Rosenberg followed with a double to left center to plate Nigro and give the Blue Jays a 13-2 lead. Elizabethtown scored in the bottom of the seventh when Whetham and Matt Eshenour each doubled, but Hopkins got the run back in the top of the eighth as freshman Rob Sanzillo (Katonah, NY/Somers) singled, advanced to second on a groundout and scored on a single by Cetta. Eshenour doubled home Mike Donahue in the bottom of the ninth to cap the scoring for Elizabethtown, which fell to 8-12 on the season. Hopkins sophomore Jim Flannery (Rocky River, OH/St. Edward) started and picked up his second win of the season after allowing two runs, one earned, and six hits while striking out four in five innings of work. Freshman Ben Raymond (Wilmington, DE/Charter School) allowed one run in two innings, junior Jason Hochfelder (Briarcliff Manor, NY/Hackley) threw a scoreless eighth and freshman Ryan Lanpher (York, PA/Calvert Hall) gave up a run in the ninth. Mike Nocar took the loss for Elizabethtown as he gave up four runs and four hits in two innings pitched, even though he struck out the side in both innings.
