BALTIMORE, MD - Jon Kalejta was 4-for-6 with three RBIs and Seth Guida added three hits and three RBIs to lead Elizabethtown to a 12-7 win over Johns Hopkins in non-conference baseball action this afternoon in Baltimore.

Elizabethtown, which improved to 6-2 with its sixth straight win, led 9-6 after four innings and stretched the margin to 12-6 after seven innings. Hopkins committed seven errors in the contest and fell to 9-2 with its second loss in the last three games.

JHU opened the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Elizabethtown answered with four runs in the top of the second on three hits and two errors, but Hopkins regained the lead in the bottom of the third on back-to-back home runs by Winterling and junior Brian Morley (Tappan, NY/Don Bosco Prep). Junior Doug Hitchner (Haverford, PA/Episcopal Academy) cut the deficit to 9-6 with his first home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth with the bases empty. Elizabethtown responded with a single run in the top of the sixth and two runs in the top of the seventh with the help of three errors to take a comfortable 12-6 lead.

Junior Craig Cetta (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) provided the final run for Hopkins with his second home run in as many days, a solo shot to left field. The Blue Jays belted four home runs to increase their season total to 21 in 11 games.

Jon Chwirut earned his first win of the season as he pitched three effective innings in relief of starter Adam Rebert. Chwirut allowed one run on two hits and struck out two. Jon Weitz picked up his first save of the year as he gave up one run on five hits in three innings of relief.
