Jonas Fester is entering his second season as an assistant on the Blue Jay coaching staff. Fester had a stellar career at Johns Hopkins under Coach Babb from 2005-2008.
Fester was a four-year varsity player at JHU, starting at shortstop in his final three seasons. He earned first team All-American honors, was a two-time First Team
All-Centennial selection and earned Third Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American honors during his career.
Fester is fourth all-time at Hopkins with 194 career hits and tied the NCAA single-season doubles record in 2008 with 27. Fester also scored 148 runs in his career, fifth-best all-time at JHU. He helped lead Hopkins to the best College World Series finish in school history, placing second in the nation in 2008.
Fester graduated from Johns Hopkins in 2008 with a degree in political science. Upon graduation, he played independent baseball with the Fort Worth Cats and the Texarkana Gunslingers.
Fester will work primarily with the infielders and hitters this spring.
