Hopkins Water Polo Remains Fourth in CWPA Polls

JHU WATER POLO REMAINS FOURTH IN THE CWPA POLLS

BALTIMORE, MD -- The Johns Hopkins men's water polo team remained in fourth place in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Top 10 poll released on September 20. The Blue Jays, which did not play a match last week, received 35 points in the balloting. JHU is 2-6 overall.

Senior All-American Zaman Mirzadeh (Davis, CA/Davis) leads all JHU scorers with 17 goals. Sophomore Ryan Ford (Almaden, CA/Leland) is close behind with 16 and freshman Geoffrey McCann (Menlo Park, CA/St. Francis) has nine goals. Junior tri-captain Mark McCoy (Santa Barbara, CA/Dos Pueblos) (4), sophomore Paul Ramaley (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) (3), freshman Daniel Herr (Encino, CA/Harvard-Westlake) (2), and Mark McGory (Sr., Danville, CA/San Ramon), Parker Emmott (Fr., Hillsborough, CA/Menlo), and tri-captain Adam Kinsey (Sr., Milford, OH/Milford) (1 each), round out the list of goal scorers for Hopkins.

The Blue Jays open CWPA Southern Division league play with several matches this weekend. On Friday, the Blue Jays host George Washington at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, JHU faces Princeton at Bucknell beginning at 2:00 p.m., followed by host Bucknell at 8:00 p.m. On Sunday, Hopkins tackles Navy at 10:00 a.m. That match will also be played at Bucknell.
