A group of volunteer alumni, friends and staff established Blue Jays Unlimited (BJU) in 1995 to support and promote Johns Hopkins Athletics. Currently, more than 3,000 Blue Jays fans make up the BJU membership, which has raised more than $4 million to enhance the Johns Hopkins experience for all student-athletes. These funds support the everyday needs of the Athletic Department and its individual sports, and provide money for capital projects, as well as scholarship and operational endowments. In addition to the annual revenue generated by BJU, which individual teams use for recruiting, apparel, assistant coaching salaries and other discretionary needs, other BJU funds have supported the White Center Enhancement Project, locker room and varsity weight room renovations, team travel and recognition signs for championship teams. BJU does more than raise funds. They sponsor countless receptions, tailgates and programs for the student-athletes and fans throughout the year.
